I'm a buffet kind of guy (that's code for pleasantly plump) and have brought probably 20 people to this buffet and they all liked, if not loved it. You need to know what you're doing though. Go when it's not busy and you're going to eat food that's been sitting there a while. Same for any buffet really. Go at 11 ish when they open or during the dinner rush on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and everything will be hot, fresh and really quite good. That's the buffet golden rule! If you have to go when they're slow, hit the hibachi and ask the sushi guy for a couple rolls. For a $7 lunch, I'd do that. Maybe toss a couple crab rangoons and chicken wings on top. When the place is busy, I eat sushi... tuna, salmon, California rolls, and I'll ask for salmon and avocado. I'll eat $20 worth of sushi and maki with a pile of seaweed salad just to get started. A salmon, tuna, and avocado roll is $12, and I'll eat two. Tip the guy $2 or $3 and enjoy. Their crab rangoons are the best I've ever had. Chicken on a stick is floured and fried with a little crust is very good I like the Italian shrimp with onions and peppers, teriyaki chicken wings, clams in black bean sauce, chicken and broccoli, pork strips with onions and red pepper flakes, green beans and garlic, boneless chicken.... Lots of good food, and I like to rotate from one trip to another. The only draw back to the place is they don't turn over the food when it doesn't sell. They let it sit until it's gone somewhere far, far away, and I won't eat it. I will literally go at opening or prime time on the weekend, or I'll just eat hibachi and sushi bar. They would be 4 stars on par with Hong Kong Buffet if they weren't so cheapie and swapped out the food when it got old. A lot of buffets are like that though. It's the good ones that don't want to serve you food that has been sitting two hours since lunch. Actually, there's two drawbacks if you don't like crying screaming children everywhere. Oh, it can be very annoying! Sometimes, I'll leave my table and sit at the bar to give my ears a break. It is non stop though, and you'll have to sit there and eat to it. I would mention a peculiarity at this particular buffet. Lots of South Americans eat here and the food reflects. They put hot peppers in everything. The manager told me once; "because it's what the customers want." You'll see sliced hot peppers in the clams and shrimp, mussels, deep fried pork, beef and broccoli. Not your typical places. They also put sirracha in a lot of the maki and it's hot. The hibachi guy will also wave a big spoon of chili paste over your stir fry and await your approval. I go to three other buffets regularly that do not make such abundant use of hot peppers. A little heat isn't a bad thing, but you can't taste a shrimp or a clam smothered in jalapeños! An added bonus. Should you go on a Sunday night, you might see the parishioners of the little church of happy people. They come on a bus after mass. I don't know their nationality but they are African American, and they speak French. They wear outfits so bright, they make it look like Mardi Gras. You might get dinner and a show!

if you like Buffets then this place you gotta check out... 7 dollars before 3oclock and 9 dollars after 3 ... pretty cheap makes you question lol.... all jokes aside they got a huge variety of food ... a sushi bar and hibachi guy too ... you pick out the raw foods and the hibachi guy will take care of you..... the Staff is Really really friendly ..

I am not very impressed with this buffet. I went here only because my friend recommended it but boy did that friend steer me in the wrong direction. The place was pretty packed when I walked in the door. The place is also quite big and has many tables. They had 7 different stations. The hibachi grill, sushi, ice cream station, dessert section, typical American food section ( fries, chicken wings, etc), station with all types of meat, and a section with the typical American Chinese food fare. The food was nothing special at all. I tried about ten different dishes and all did nothing for me. The lo mein had a strange taste. My friend got a plate of sushi. When he sat down to eat it he lifted a piece towards his mouth and said it smelled rotten. The sushi on top of being rotten was also poorly put together. I did enjoy their selection of fresh fruit on the dessert bar. I had kiwi, pineapple, grapes, and cantaloupe. But, fresh fruit doesn't say much for the establishment. I left feeling unsatisfied and sad. Oh well, I wont be back.

HUGE selection of "Food" all pretty much un edible yes it was that bad. Also buffet was not maintained very well pretty filthy joint. My stomach turns again just writing about my experience there do your self a favor and save your 8 bucks and spend it on a few Power ball tickets because that is a much better gamble then this dump!

My husband, son, and I traveled "over the bridge" from cranston last friday night since we had a coupon and didn't know where else to go. We walked in, and immediately walked out. The hallway foyer was so dingy and so disgusting! If they can't keep up with the entrance to the restaurant, they are sure not keeping up the cleanliness of the kitchen. Come on people!! SO GROSS! NEVER GOING BACK!

Ok is a buffet i know but WOW. walked in the door we were greeted with 3 kind ladies who were just eager to please us and make sure we were content. we sat down passing rows and rows of food and at the end a hibachi station. Never waited for a drink never had a dirty plate on the table. The food was so fresh. they were constantly replenishing the food. It was so good. i didnt even get to the hibachi station i was stuffed but wanted more. this is deff a place we will go back to for a cheap date. They also serve alcohol which is always a plus. Check it out its worth it

This place is my go to buffet. All the workers here are friendly and there is a good variety of food. Their dinner features my favorite mayonnaise shrimp, crab rangoon, and sushi so I usually get to go boxes

One of my favorites for either lunch or dinner. They have a large selection ranging from Japanese to Chinese to Mongolian. The Mongolian BBQ is awesome, and my chefs have been quick as well. Sushi offerings are far more than California rolls or tuna on rice. There's also quite a pastry and fruit selection for dessert. My only complaint is that the prime rib is always cooked well. They also have ham carving. Light on the veggie options for those of you looking for lighter fare. Give it a shot. One of the best in the area.

It's good enough to make the lunch buffet prices worth it. Service is good, seated quick and there's a good selection and a few sushi options that are definitely good enough for lunch prices.

I go there alot.... three times in a row they screwed me They charged my card twice. I told them to put half cash and half card and she totally screwed up everything. The she charged me extra. Then she screwed up and charged me for one adult when we had two and said it was my fault. I found hair in the dish and she took 10% off my bill. Which was bull! staying away for awhile.

Terrible service. No one comes to refill drinks. Sub par food everything was dryed out or old and bathroom was gross. The hibachi guy was texting while making the food. Never coming back and I suggest people find elsewhere to eat

Been here 3 times and I enjoyed it every time. Just like every other buffet go for dinner when there busier.food will always be fresh. 1 time I came it was on thanksgiving.one of the few places that were open. Good food good service I would come back.

I stay far clear from Chinese buffets as (a) I overeat at them, (b) the food selections are subpar versions of what you would find at a regular Chinese restaurant, and (c) I overeat at them. I'd been hearing about this new buffet on Newport Ave, the ads said they had a hibachi, and it was January 1 (the last day I wanted to binge eat), so I figured, what the hey, let's go! The decor is very unlike a regular Chinese buffet in that it's actually fairly pretty inside, it was very clean the night I went, and the service was better than any other Chinese buffet I've been to. Most of the selections are what you would find at a regular Chinese buffet, but they have a large sushi selection (the couple next to us was loading up on sushi) and they have a hibachi where you can load a plate with all kinds of fresh veggies and meats and the hibachi master will cook it right in front of you. Now *that* is pretty cool. While the regular Chinese selections are what you would find at any other buffet, the food was hot and fresh and I enjoyed everything I tried. The dessert bar is pretty extensive too but I love ice cream so that's what I had, all the while trying not to think about the fact that multitudes of kids with dirty hands use the scoopers to grab the ice cream. While I won't be back anytime soon as I'm working my patootie off at the gym, the next time I have a hankering for a Chinese buffet this will be my choice.

Food: Average to below average chinese food (Pork dumplings were good and the buffet did have 6 varieties of ice cream, but nothing else is memorable. The chicken entrees tasted old like they had been sitting in the heating tray for a while) Ambiance: Terrible. The place felt very crowded and there were lots of noisy children running around the food area Service: Also terrible. Never got a refill on a drink and the Hibachi grill was a big disappointment---I've had better fried rice that was frozen! Overall: Go to the Hibachi Buffet in Warwick if you are craving a Chinese buffet experience. The food is much better and fresher (including better sushi)

We happened to be in the area and wanted some quick Asian food for lunch. This place is located in a strip of strip malls! Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance is dark and dingy. Even though it was the middle of summer, I noticed that the restaurant was quite warm and humid. I figured out why the joint was warm and humid when the trays were refilled on the steamer tables - the water under the trays were at a full boil! In other words, any food that was perfectly cooked in the kitchen would become over cooked in the steamer tables. It seems that the wait staff felt the heat as them seemed to be a miserable cast of characters - not even a smile on any of them. Let's talk about the food - Sushi - there were some sushi rolls - mostly imitation crab meat and veggie. I think they were smart by not really having any raw fish as this place was too warm! Asian foods - there were different chicken dishes, pork dishes, and everything looked and tasted the same. The clams in black bean sauce were so over cooked that they were tough to eat. There were some poached white fish fillets that were good when they first came out of the kitchen. The egg foo young and gravy was excellent! Non-Asian foods - I'm not sure about the non-Asian foods but noticed some older Asian customers devouring pizza slices! They do draw a good crowd of customers for lunch - probably because of the $7.50 all-you-can-eat price tag! Will I go back again? No. What if I happen to be in the area like for a Paw Sox game? Still, no!

Hate to give bad reviews but this place was not good at all. I went with my daughter at lunch time and was happy to see steam coming from all the stations as we were seated. This was my first time here and there was a good crowd, good sign, right? Nope! Everything we had was cold or lukewarm at best. Some dishes even looked congealed and smelled strange. My daughter ate two bites which is not like her at all. The only thing worth one star here with was the fresh fruit at the salad station. Save your money.

Just came here tonight for the first time with my husband and 3 year old son. The restaurant is in a strip plaza (next to Burlington Coat Factory, movie theater, McD, etc). The outside looks a little sketchy but the inside was really nice. I was very surprised. Modern, clean. There were 8 buffet stations filled with sushi, fried foods, noodles, soup, seafood station, dessert, etc. There was a hibachi grill in the back where you can choose the ingredients and the chefs will cook your meal to order. The waitstaff was attentive and very nice. It was a busy night. The quality of the food was just ok. Steamed clams and mussels were chewy. Raw bar was not cold enough. Sushi was good, not great. The other cooked food was mediocre. I didn't try the hibachi grill - maybe I should have. Huge selection of food but quality was just not up to par to what I'm used to. It's not bad, just not great. But you can't beat the price: $10.50/adult on a Friday night. I don't think we will go back anytime soon but I haven't been able to find many buffets in the area.

its a buffett.. foods not bad and its really cheap.can get lunch for 2 for under 20$. only thing is the desserts are meh at best.1 thing that struck me as really weird is it used to be a pet shop before which i had to joke about.

This place is worth trying and once you do, you'll get hooked. Let me tell you my experience Saw this place in this website and just decided to try the place.We used my gps since I am not familiar to the area, which is located in downtown providence. We pulled in to this big plaza where other things are located. The exterior of the restaurant is lit nicely and very inviting. Upon entering, I was greeted with the aroma of different foods that will wake a bear out of its hibernation.The interior decoration looks new and is well kept. They have this cool funky designs and statues that give this place a nice vibe.We were welcomed by Helen which looked very eager to serve and sat us in a booth. Since we came there an hour before closing, she said if we cant find something we like she'll ask someone to make it for us which is a first for me for a buffet place. She followed me as I went to the sushi bar which made the rolls fresh for me, was offered different suggestions but I went for the basic Spicy Crabmeat Roll with eel sauce and California Roll which is very good considering we paid only $10 per person. For an all you can eat sushi, this is the way to go. I did try the buffet section too, it was good but not outstanding(but the fact that we came late and wasnt able to try it fresh might be the reason). Out of all the things we tried(I tried a taste of each dish, it is a buffet anyways) The Hot and Sour Soup, Baked Mussels and Crab Rangoon were my favorite, the Mayonnaise Shrimp was my boyfriend's fave. But the dessert table was amazing too, I loved the fact that they had a wide spread of fruit and pastry varieties. Their Ice cream is very flavorful as well and they offer 6 flavors. Lastly, I loved the fact that for the same general price, You can have hibachi, fresh ingredients freshly made in front of you. There are a lot of options and very satisfying. So over all, buffet is OK, Sushi and Hibachi is really good if not great. The place is nice clean and doesnt have the cheap feel to it. And the service is AMAZING, best I ever had not just from a buffet place (Helen, was bringing our sushi rolls to our table, dirty dishes magically disappears, glasses always filled with drinks, service with a smile). Definitely becoming a regular to this place.

Before I get to the food, let me first address a few small non food related issues. The first being that HGSB could do a better job of keeping up with the general cleanliness of their restaurant. Mind you, the place wasn't filthy, but I was aware of random bits of food remnants on the tables, the floors, and in the bathroom. It did bring to mind what most Burger Kings look like 15 minutes before closing. I understand that this is often the result of certain inconsiderate patrons. Ya know, the types who get so caught up in their voracious feeding frenzy, that they lose all decorum, and leave scattered debris in their slovenly wake. Still, it wouldn't be difficult to send someone out on crumb patrol a lil more often. But I digress. The second issue was the water. What's that you say? Water? What kind of pompous ass critique's the water? Well, when the water you serve the customer tastes sour, like something dredged from a polluted lake, it might be time to invest in a water filter. Just sayin'. How was the food you ask? The Buffet I'd say the buffet was adequate. For the most part, it was fairly typical of most Chinese buffets. Many of the usual suspects were there (lomein, Gen Tso's Chicken, egg rolls, wings, ribs, dumplings, etc). However, there were a few standouts: the Japanese Chicken for example was quite tasty, and the soups (especially the sweet and sour) were very good. There was also various American foods like pizza, chicken wings, baked ham, chicken nuggets, and French fries. I did not indulge. The Sushi /Raw Bar Section I actually enjoyed this most. A half dozen or so different rolls were available (tuna, crab, salmon, and a few special versions). All were fresh, and delicious. Raw oysters, and clams were also available here (they went down smooth with a bit of hot sauce). Personally, I'd love to see HGSB expand the sushi / raw section, and add more variations. The Hibachi I did not partake in the Hibachi, but my dining companion commented that it was adequate (albeit lacking the zest that more choices in sauces might bring). The Dessert Area Just for giggles, I tried a few of the little cakes, a brownie, and sampled a few spoonfuls of the offered puddings. Two words can sum up these desserts: bland, and cheap. Overall, I'd say the HGSB is decent enough, but it was saved from being merely mediocre by the sushi offerings (which is a good deal as part of an all you can eat buffet), and a few of the better Chinese dishes.

It's a buffet people. Eat a lot of food and slip into a light coma. It's pretty big with 6 sections or so, including the mandatory "american food", some salad options and dessert. As for the food it was all pretty standard- nothing particularly yummy, but nothing gross. For dinner they introduce a baked ham, a roast, and clams, mussels, and raw oysters and clams. Dinner is $10.50 vs. $7.50 Lunch so cheap either way. They have sushi and hibachi, although I didn't see anyone get hibachi until dinner kicked in around 4pm. As for the sushi it was pretty meh, and also for some reason multiple rolls had banana on them. YES BANANA. Why? Bottom line if you are looking to get uncomfortably full on mediocre food for cheap, do not pass this place up!

I used to eat at the other one, the East China Buffet, but they always had problems with my card, and after eating there at least 20 times over the years, they actually kept my driver's license when I could't get my card to work in their machine. I thought that was so cheap. They see me all the time. It's good to have a little trust in the people that do business with you. At the other buffet, my card always works, and the girls that work there are so nice to my baby and I. They play with him and even watch him while I go get some more food if we are by ourselves. They are very sweet and not as quick to snatch your check from you. They are smiley and always friendly and love to chat with us. We like it here......Also, if you have a young kid or a baby, the buffet is great because there is so much fruit for them to snack on. It may not be the fanciest, but it is pretty and better than the one in warwick on route 2 or the one across the street. That's what we think!

Food was great very fresh and hot (some buffets worry me with their cold food- not safe). Was wowed by good service and appealing dishes, your fried chinese favorites are not the only go to here there is an amazing hibachi chicken and a great broccoli and beef. Eggrolls are good better than I expected. I saw down the back you can make your own hibachi dish they cook for you have to try that out next time. You will not leave hungry here and it doesnt break the bank :) Kids eat depending on age and prices are 7.50/adult for lunch, wow!

Good buffet food. Nice selection of stuff you typically find at Chinese buffets, as well as (surprisingly good) "fast food" and "comfort foods" (pizza, chicken nuggets, fries, mac and cheese, garlic toast, etc.). Pretty much everything i tried was somewhere between "OK" and excellent, but there were definitely a few sub par items. Love the hibachi grill in the back. Noodles, a bunch of vegetables, a few types of meat, and eggs. Pick what you want, they grill it, add sauce, put it on a plate and you have a freshly made plate of your favorite combination (make sure you tip the grill cook). My only complaints are (as i said before) a few items were pretty bad, and (on the day we want), service was slow. I understand the place was busy, but the servers are basically "bus-people" who refill your drinks. With that in mind, they should be a lot more attentive when it comes to empty cups. It's not like we waited an exceedingly long time, but a bit too long. Other than those few minor complaints, this place is great, and it is DIRT CHEAP (6.50 for lunch and 1.50 for a drink with endless refills!!), definitely recommend.
